Other income for the period was HK$3.45 million, a decline from HK$7.48 million in 2022. The report also showed other gains and losses at HK$1.64 million, slightly higher than HK$1.36 million reported last year. Distribution and selling expenses decreased to HK$37.69 million from HK$39.23 million, while administrative and other operating expenses rose to HK$27.45 million from HK$24.84 million, the company said in a press release.
The loss from operations was recorded at HK$12.65 million in H1 FY24, showing an improvement over the HK$15.62 million loss in H1 FY23. The company noted a gain on the disposal of subsidiaries at HK$2.11 million. However, finance costs rose to HK$1.64 million, up from HK$0.82 million in the previous year.
Before tax, the company's loss stood at HK$12.17 million in H1 FY24, better than the HK$16.44 million loss in H1 FY23. After considering income tax expenses of HK$3.11 million, significantly higher than HK$0.33 million last year, the total loss for the period was HK$15.28 million, marginally less than the HK$16.77 million loss reported in H1 FY22.
