The Pantone Color Institute (PCI), Pantone’s trend forecasting and colour consultancy, has published a Fashion Colour Trend Report for the fashion industry featuring the top-ten standout colours, and current takes on five core classics, that can be expected as fashion designers introduce their new Spring/Summer collections at the ongoing London Fashion Week.

Promoting new sentiments of simplicity and spontaneity, colours for LFW Spring/Summer 2022 fuse the deep connection to nature and need for comfort and familiarity with light-hearted, airy pastels and visually arresting brights. Capturing this theme of complement and contrast, Spring/Summer 2022 colours for LFW inspire playful creativity and unconstrained expression that is full of life, Pantone said on its website.

The Spring/Summer 2022 London colour palette blends sentiments of simplicity and spontaneity and inspire new forms of personalised expression. The colours include Pantone 14-5713 Cascade, Pantone 16-1349 Coral Rose, Pantone 18-4143 Super Sonic, Pantone 12-0825 Popcorn, Pantone 13-2004 Potpourri, Pantone 17-1928 Bubblegum, Pantone 18-1160 Sudan Brown, Pantone 15-0549 Fragile Sprout, Pantone 14-3612 Orchid Bloom and Pantone 18-1307 Coffee Quartz.

The Spring/Summer 2022 Core Classics are seasonless hues whose versatility express longevity. They include Pantone 11-1001 White Alyssum, Pantone 15-1304 Humus, Pantone 15-6316 Fair Green, Pantone 14-4104 Northern Droplet and Pantone 18-4004 Poppy Seed.

“Our use of colour is connected to the cultural mood. As we explore a new future, we are looking for opportunities to do something completely different. Colours that celebrate our desire to break boundaries satisfy our fervent need for playful creativity and unconstrained visual expression as we enter into this new, uncertain time,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.
