Dr. Sun-Hee Lee has been placed in Marquis Who's Who. A widely regarded professional in the field of fashion design, Lee has been with Dong-A University in a variety of roles since 2009. She has served as an associate professor, head of the Department of Fashion Design, director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education, and as vice president of the School of Design and Creative Technology. In addition, she serves as a member of the committee for the Institute of Convergence Design. Additionally, she has been a member of the Institute of Convergence Design committee since 2013, and a member of the Busan Young Researchers Forum since 2015. She also recently founded TexStyler 4.0, focusing on combined detail-oriented textile engineering in the 3D printed textile industry.
Prior to pursuing a career in fashion design, Lee developed an interest in textiles due to their nature as the most basic clothing material in human life. She received a Master of Science in Fashion and Textiles from Dong-A University in 2000, going on to earn a Doctor of Engineering in Textile Engineering from Pusan National University in 2004 with a thesis entitled "Fine Structure Formation and Physical Properties of Poly (butylene terephthalate) with Various Processing Conditions." In 2007, she received a certificate of fashion and textile design from Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, Italy.
Lee is affiliated with the Korean Fibre Society, the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles, and the Society of Fashion & Textile Industry. She has published numerous papers in her areas of expertise, in addition to holding several patents for smart garments and a textile manufacturing system using 3D printing and methods for manufacturing textile using the same. She was recently selected as the recipient of a Best Paper Award by the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles.Lee manages TexStyler 4.0, which is set to grow into a global company focused on a design-based smart factory production process.
