The fast expanding group of ethically-minded consumers in Zalora’s markets points towards circularity as the future of fashion, by minimising waste and reducing the impact on the environment. The idea of owning pre-loved fashion is quickly gaining popularity as more customers in the region actively search out and choose sustainable fashion, according to a press release by parent organisation of Zalora, Global Fashion Group.
“Zalora is committed to promoting sustainability in the region and is determined to shape a sustainable fashion ecosystem. Companies now need to work together to evolve from just reducing impact to making a positive impact. Our partnership with Vestiaire Collective effectively expands our Pre-Loved category, offering more choices to our Zalora shoppers and giving them a chance to partake in joining the circular fashion movement,” Gunjan Soni, Zalora CEO said.
“Vestiaire Collective is excited to partner with Zalora to further increase our local footprint of circular fashion within Asia. Sustainability is one of the founding pillars of our business and we’re thrilled to open the doors of pre-loved fashion to more users in new markets, allowing more people to embrace circularity in their daily lives,” Pierre Everling, chief regional officer of APAC said.
As the leading fashion e-commerce player in Southeast Asia, Zalora sees it as both an opportunity and a responsibility to not just align ourselves with our consumer’s evolving needs and preferences, but to also leverage our unique position in the market to encourage customers to participate in the circular economy, and providing options to shop sustainably.
