Lebanese designer Ziad Nakad's Renaissance at Paris Haute Couture FW

Inspired by the famous open double spiral staircase of the Château de Chambord in France, Lebanese fashion designer Ziad Nakad presented 'Renaissance', his couture fall-winter 2021-22 collection, at the ongoing Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week (FW) online. The collection tinted with pastel colours is hand-embroidered in the designer's atelier in Beirut.

The collection includes architectural fitted dresses, complete with the lightness of the impeccable pleats. There were also airy fluid dresses, in shimmering colours: purple, yellow, and blue—a tribute to the historic tapestries and paintings of the castle.

The majestic, hand-embroidered wedding dress closed the dream collection at the fashion week.

Nakad's dream of couture designing turned into a career when he was invited to take part at the Beirut International Fashion Show for Couture in 1997, where he dressed supermodels like Karen Mudler, Nadja Urman and Jennifer Driver.

His first fashion shows garnered much praise from critics and sparked international interest for the designer. He debuted his international show in Milano in 2001, followed by another one in Cannes in 2003.

Celebrated for his ability to reveal the feminine side of every woman, Nakad is today a design reference in fashion shows in Lebanon, the Middle East, the Gulf, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the world.
