Maceton Bangladesh's Trash Tag Challenge wins the heart of Cox's Bazar

Staff Reporter (RMG Times)  Pollution is totally unwanted for the people and planet. It threatens the growth and hampers the pace of life.  As far plastic pollution is concerned, it accumulates of plastic objects and particles that adversely affect wildlife, wildlife habitat, and humans as well. It has a huge impact on the sea life. By 2025, there could be 1 ton of plastic for every 3 tons of fish in the ocean. Nature needs the right to exist, thrive & evolve.

‘A little effort can go a long way, if everyone participates’ has been the mindset of Maceton Bangladesh Liason Office of Karl Rieker GmbH Co.KG, a German based buying house in Bangladesh. Today, aiming to take small steps for a clean and better environment, with the participation of 35 active members, they arranged “Trash Tag Challenge”, and cleaned up Kolatoli Beach located in Cox’s Bazar. They removed plastics, poly bags and other wastage from the beach. This noble initiative made them able to win the hearts of thousands of Cox’s Bazar.

Maceton has been able to provide a platform where it’s passionate members were able to interact with the locals from the area, and inform them about how they could keep their region litter free and the benefits of having a cleaner environment. According to Maceton team, ‘Keep our sea and also surrounding free from plastic and it will reply making lives easier and healthier’.

Trash Tag is not only a trending phenomenon in today’s world but also an exposure for moulding young minds towards a safer and cleaner environment. This event was a one of many steps by Maceton towards raising awareness for better living amongst a lot more to come. Some local people already shown their interest and appreciated this initiative taken by Maceton. They are now aware about this thrash and what is happening in the sea while it is being thrown frequently into the sea. As per their statement, they will continue this from their side onwards.

Michael Huck, MD, was present at the event as the Chief Guest while Mr. Safiqul islam Sazu, Head of Sourcing, Mrs. Akhi Yeasmin, Sustainable Responsible and Monyruzzaman Rusel, Manager (CR) were also present.

Karl Rieker believes on sustainable production and development. Also they want to ensure sustainability in their full supply chain.
