Syed Ehatasum Kabir: Newly Elected Supplier Member Director of SEDEX

Washim Mia, Staff Correspondent (RMG Times)  Syed Ehatasum Kabir, Head of Human Resource and Compliance at Mohammadi Group has been elected as Supplier Member Director of SEDEX from the category of B. He will, from now on, represent Bangladesh in every Board Meeting of SEDEX.

The result of this election was announced at the Sedex Conference 2018 at Brewery, London on 14th of March. According to its transition, Mr. Kabir will serve as the post stated above for 3 years.

Mr. Kabir stated, “It’s a great privilege for me to represent my country, Bangladesh, to such a great platform- Sedex. It’s an honor to be a part of developing the global supply chain in collaboration with Sedex. I want to thank all those out there behind the curtain who casted their valuable votes for me and trusted me as well”.

 “I am passionate about responsible sourcing because to develop sustainable business, responsible sourcing practice is one of the key requirements which starts from the seed to the finished product. Considering the global warming and competitive business in current situation and future business goal, all the products should be traceable till the end product and ensure social compliance norms in the manufacturing industries. I want to give my best to upgrade the existing level of supply chain that we have. I want to execute experience in this regard” he added.

He further said, “I would like to participate to develop the global supply chain in collaboration with SEDEX and contribute according to my knowledge and experience.

In replying a question on the expertise he will bring to the Sedex Board, Mr. Kabir informed, “I do have 19 years experience in the apparel industry. Considering a good communication and connection with in industry experts I can understand the pulse of the industry especially in Bangladesh. I’m expecting, this expertise will help SEDEX board to develop future act, to uplift the image of global supply chain as a whole”.
