Filatex India, a leading producer of synthetic yarn, has commenced the production of polyester fully drawn yarn at its Dahej plant from 4 March, 2016 with two texturising machines installed at the location, according to a statement filed by the company with BSE.

The company had earlier announced its expansion plan of setting up a manufacturing facility at its Dahej plant for the production of 100 MT/day of polyester fully drawn yarn. This step will help in long term profitability and will also benefit the company in terms of cost as supporting infrastructural facilities are already in place at the plant.

It is also in the process of installing another 38 texturising machines, in phases, for yarn manufacture. The total capital expenditure for implementing the said expansion programme is about Rs 100 crore.

The installation is likely to be completed by 30 September, 2016. (MCJ)
