Chapter 2 agency has announced that it will be representing the global apparel tech company MAS Holdings Pvt Ltd. Headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka, MAS Holdings is one of the world’s most recognised design-to-delivery solutions providers in the apparel and textile industry. The $2 billion-enterprise is the largest apparel tech company in South Asia.

With a focus on intimate, active and swimwear, MAS has 61 manufacturing facilities across 15 countries, powered by over 100,000 employees globally. It was founded by three brothers, Mahesh, Ajay and Sharad Amalean, and was built on the premise to ‘do the right thing’ and bring a new way of manufacturing to the apparel industry.

For over 30 years, MAS Holdings has built a reputation as an ethical operation built on practices that support all stakeholders, provide dignity to their employees, and improve the communities they operate in, the two entities said in a joint media release.

MAS has acknowledged that the industry it operates in has a significant negative impact, however, the company is doing its part, not only to mitigate the impact but to improve the lives they touch, the products they make, and the planet they depend on.

In 2003 MAS launched its women’s empowerment programme, ‘Women Go Beyond’ aligning with the UN Women's Empowerment Principles. MAS also became a member of the UN Global Compact that year, and four years later, the UNGC highlighted the Women Go Beyond programme in its quarterly review, demonstrating MAS’ firm commitment to supporting female employees.

In 2011, MAS formalised its environmental sustainability initiatives, and in 2021 launched the company-wide ‘Plan For Change’ sustainability strategy that aims to create a positive impact on product, people and the planet.

Today, MAS manages a more diverse portfolio of businesses across IT, wearable tech, FemTech, medical apparel, start-ups and fabric parks worldwide.

“We are honoured to be working with MAS and will have more news to share regarding sustainability initiatives, industry investments, and partnerships in the coming weeks and months,” Chapter 2 said in a statement.
