Ramprasad Sridharan has taken over as the CEO and MD of apparel retailer Benetton India. Sridharan comes with significant experience in the fashion retail sector, having worked for Reebok India, Lerros Fashions India, Clarks Future Footwear India and C&J Clarks International UK and Singapore.
Sridharan has started in his new position today, replacing the outgoing incumbent Sundeep Chugh who held the position for 10 years. Sridharan is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. His previous position was president for Southeast Asia, Australia & New Zealand at C&J Clarks International Singapore. Ramprasad Sridharan has joined apparel retailer Benetton India as its new CEO and managing director (MD), replacing Sundeep Chugh, who held the position for 10 years. Sridharan has previously worked for Reebok India, Lerros Fashions India, Clarks Future Footwear India and C&J Clarks International UK and Singapore in the fashion retail sector.#

Sundeep has successfully led the company during his tenure, a period during which the brand has evolved and maintained its market leadership position through a multi-channel approach, an effective product offering and a high-impact communication strategy,” Benetton India said in a statement.
India – where Benetton has been present since 1992 – is a key market for the group, which continues to focus on e-commerce activities, the introduction of new product categories and product development that also focuses on footwear and loungewear. This year Benetton, which has a network of over 850 points of sale across the country, has opened 12 shops so far and plans to open another 30–40.
