China's CPI falls by 0.2% YoY, 0.1% MoM in Oct 2023

The consumer price index (CPI) in China, a primary measure of inflation, fell by 0.2 per cent year on year (YoY) in October, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The October CPI dipped by 0.1 per cent month on month.

The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, went up by 0.6 per cent YoY last month, with the pace of rise slightly moderating compared with the September figure, a state-controlled news agency reported.

The average CPI in the first ten months this year rose by 0.4 per cent YoY.

The country’s producer price index, which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, went down by 2.6 per cent YoY during the month.
