Dutch consumer confidence saw a slight decline in June, as reported by Statistics Netherlands (CBS). The consumer confidence indicator dropped from minus 22 in May to minus 23 in June, attributed to a decrease in consumers' willingness to buy. The headline figure of minus 23 places the consumer confidence indicator significantly below its long-term average of minus 10 over the past twenty years.

In June, consumers remained as pessimistic about the economy as they were in May, with this component of the indicator holding steady at minus 38. The assessment of the economic situation over the past twelve months became more negative, even as the outlook for the next twelve months showed signs of improvement, as per CBS.

The willingness to buy among consumers fell to minus 14 in June, down from minus 12 in May. Both consumers' opinions on their personal financial situation over the past twelve months and their expectations for the next twelve months deteriorated. Additionally, the perception of making large purchases became more unfavourable in June compared to May.
