In April, Dutch consumers showed slightly less pessimism regarding the economy, with this component of the indicator improving to minus 34 from minus 35 in March. While their assessment of the economic situation over the past twelve months has seen positive changes, their outlook for the next twelve months has deteriorated, as per CBS.
In terms of willingness to buy, the indicator has become slightly less negative, moving from minus 14 in March to minus 13 in April. This improvement is attributed to consumers' better perception of their personal financial situation over the past year and their expectations for the coming year. However, the sentiment regarding making large purchases remained unchanged, indicating continued caution among consumers about spending on high-value items.
