Former Nike COO joins US retailer Nordstrom's board

US-based Nordstrom, a leading fashion retailer, has appointed Eric Sprunk, former chief operating officer (COO) of Nike, to its board of directors, effective immediately. Sprunk will stand for election at the company's upcoming 2023 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.

With his appointment, the Nordstrom board has been expanded to 11 directors, the company said in a press release.

Sprunk has over 25 years of leadership experience in the consumer retail industry, having led the teams responsible for manufacturing, sourcing, sales, procurement, and technology at Nike. He held various executive positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure at Nike, which lasted from 1993 to 2020. Prior to joining Nike, Sprunk was a certified public accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, responsible for serving large multinational companies and financial services organisations.
