Showroomprive (SRP Group), a French online retailer specialising in fashion and beauty, has reported 28.3 per cent sales growth to €388.3 million in first half (H1) of FY21 ended on June 30, 2021, compared to €302.7 million in the same period of prior fiscal. Online revenues during the six-month period jumped 29.2 per cent to €385.1 million (€298.2 million).

“We have enjoyed an excellent first half of the year, in a persistently favourable environment for e-commerce, with an EBITDA margin of over 8 per cent for the second consecutive half-year,” Thierry Petit and David Dayan, Showroomprivé co-founders and co-CEOs, said in a press release. “We have also used this half-year to continue to develop our new growth drivers, which will help increase profitability in the short and medium terms.”

Gross margin in H1 improved 40.2 per cent to €157.6 million (€112.4 million), and operating profit rose to €22.3 million (operating loss: €5.3 million). SRP Group’s EBITDA were up €32.9 million (€7.0 million).

The online revenues from France expanded 27.5 per cent to €322.3 million, driven by the core business of internet sales and thanks to the development of new growth drivers, including a good performance by SRP Media. The international online revenues (except France) surged 38.4 per cent to €62.8 million (€45.4 million) benefiting from an enrichment of the offer and strong revenue generation by Saldi Privati in Italy, according to the company.

“In a climate obviously characterised by more muted growth, due largely to the recovery of consumption in bricks and mortar outlets, but also to reduced availability of stocks among our partners, we plan to continue focusing our efforts on keeping our operating expenses on a tight rein in order to maintain a robust economic performance over the long term. All our teams are focused on this goal of creating sustainable value,” Petit and Dayan added.
