The rise in inflation is primarily due to the acceleration on a trend basis in the prices of regulated energy products from 3.5 per cent to 11.7 per cent, and the easing of the decline in non-regulated energy goods from minus 10.3 per cent to minus 6 per cent.
In July, core inflation, excluding energy and fresh food, remained stable at 1.9 per cent, while inflation excluding energy products alone decelerated slightly from 1.9 per cent to 1.8 per cent.
The trend dynamics of goods prices, while remaining negative, are rising from minus 0.7 per cent to minus 0.1 per cent.
