Swedish leading retailer ICA Gruppen has reported 1.5 per cent marginal sales growth to SEK 32,401 million (Swedish krona) in second quarter (Q2) of FY21 ended on June 30, 2021, compared to the sales of SEK 31,924 million in the corresponding period of prior year. Profit for the quarter surged to SEK 1,139 million (Q2 FY20: SEK 976 million).

“We had a good performance during the second quarter, where the strongly improved earnings for Apotek Hjärtat and Rimi Baltic are especially gratifying. Moreover, we took markets shares in both segments,” Per Stromberg, CEO at ICA Gruppen, said in a press release.

The company said its operating profit for the three-month period totalled to SEK 1,466 million (SEK 1,454 million).

Segmentally, sales from ICA Sweden slightly declined to SEK 23,376 million (SEK 23,496 million), while Rimi Baltic sales expanded to SEK 4,313 million (SEK 4,051 million).
