  • The Better Buying platform provides a safe platform for suppliers.
American apparel design and manufacturing company Decor Global’s director of operations and supply chain Michael Cai has called upon peer suppliers to rate their buyers’ purchasing practices on the online rating system Better Buying’s website. The more suppliers rate, the more robust the data, and the more motivated brands and retailers will be to improve, he said in his latest blog.

Over the years, Decor Global has seen positive changes from the buyers they have rated on the Better Buying platform. Buyers have become more open to listening to their feedback and suggestions, leading to real improvements in forecasting, planning, and business management practices, Cai noted in his blog on Better Buying’s website.

When Decor Global raised concerns about social duplicative audits, some of its buyers listened and adopted industry audit schemes such as the SLCP Converged Assessment Framework to reduce audit fatigue, enabling Decor Global to invest resources in improving working conditions.

For six years now, Decor Global has been engaging with Better Buying Institute, whose vision is to encourage responsible purchasing practices to achieve shared goals of profitability and social and environmental sustainability. The platform provides a safe, anonymous, and easy-to-complete platform for suppliers to engage with buyers, give honest feedback, and co-create solutions to shared business challenges while ensuring that their business relationships will not be jeopardised, wrote Cai.
