US’ retail trade sales saw a decline in March 2023, with a 1.2 per cent drop from February 2023, according to advance estimates released by the US Census Bureau. However, retail trade sales were up 1.5 per cent from the same time last year.Non-store retailers, which include online and mail-order retailers, saw the most significant increase in sales in March 2023, with a 12.3 per cent increase from the previous year.
For clothing and clothing accessories stores, the estimated total adjusted sales were $25.893 billion in March 2023 compared to $26.346 billion in February 2023. In comparison with March 2022, US’ total adjusted sales for clothing and clothing accessories stores were $26.367 billion, as per US Census Bureau.
US saw a 1.2 per cent decline in retail trade sales in March 2023 compared to February 2023, but the retail trade sales increased 1.5 per cent compared to last year, as per US Census Bureau's advance estimates.
Non-store retailers saw a 12.3 per cent increase in sales YoY, while clothing and accessories stores' sales dropped to $25.893 billion in March 2023.
