A significant share was noted in the city of Tashkent: 26.5 per cent, or 28.79 trillion soums. The smallest share was that of the Syrdarya region: 1.7 per cent, or 1.8 trillion soums.
The turnover of large enterprises amounted to 18.71 trillion soums, and that of small businesses and private entrepreneurship 89.94 trillion soums. The turnover of unorganised trade amounted to 10.97 trillion soums.
Significant retail trade growth was witnessed during the five-month period in the regions of Tashkent and Ferghana.
The retail turnover of small businesses and private entrepreneurship during the period was worth 89.94 trillion soums and, increased by 5.1 per cent YoY. The share of these in the country’s retail trade turnover was 82.8 per cent.
The volume of trade turnover of large enterprises increased by 18.8 per cent to reach 18.71 trillion soums—17.2 per cent of its total volume.
The share of trade turnover of large enterprises amounted to 17.2 per cent of total sales.
Meanwhile, The volume of wholesale trade in the country increased by 10.9 per cent YoY during the period to reach 98.06 trillion soums, according to Uzbek media reports.
The turnover of wholesale trade of small businesses increased by 30.1 per cent during the period to 70.75 trillion soums. The share of these in the wholesale trade turnover was 72.2 per cent.
The highest YoY growth rates of wholesale turnover of large enterprises were observed in Syrdarya (3.3 times), Samarkand (2.1 times) and Kashkadarya (1.9 times) regions.
As of June 1 this year, the number of commercial enterprises operating in the field of wholesale trade was 45,764, of which the number of large operating enterprises was 349, and small enterprises and micro-firms 45,415.
The number of commercial enterprises operating in the country’s retail sector was 96,330, of which the number of operating large enterprises was 324, and small enterprises and microfirms 96 006.
