Science Magazine carried out a global survey on 5,701 employees from pharmaceutical, biotechnology and related industries to find the 20 best employers. The survey participants were from North America (57 per cent), Europe (27 per cent) and Asia/Pacific Rim (11 per cent). The rankings were made on the basis of three factors – 'treats employees with respect', 'is socially responsible' and 'innovative leader of the world'.
“We are very proud to be recognised as the best employer by this leading scientific journal,” Per Falholt, chief science officer at Novozymes said. “We develop biological answers to some of the greatest challenges of our time. Our products really make a difference, and I believe that is a great motivation for everybody at Novozymes.”
One in five of its 6,500 employees work in research and development (R&D). Novozymes invests 13-14 per cent of its total revenue into R&D each year. (MCJ)
