The chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) suggested that the government should facilitate partnerships between domestic industry and textile machinery manufacturers in India. Adi Sudrejat also said that this cooperation between Indonesia and India can be in form of offering credit facilities for purchasing Indian textile machinery.
Ade Sudrajat expressed his opinion at an event in Bandung, to promote the India International Textile Machinery Exhibition (India ITME-2016) to be held in Mumbai in December 2016 among the Indonesian textile sector.The chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) suggested that the government should facilitate partnerships between domestic industry and textile machinery manufacturers in India. “One more reason to choose Indian machinery was because it was as competitively priced as Chinese ones,” a leading Indonesian daily reported Sudrejat as saying.
He also urged the domestic industry to keep on upgrading their machinery and equipment on a regular basis, so that products from the sector remain competitive in the worldwide market.
Ade Sudrajat also said that industry was not upgrading production facilities mainly due to weakening global demand. (AR)
