Insights

  • At GTE 2024, RDX Digital Technologies introduced its hybrid digital printing machines, blending screen and digital printing for enhanced precision and sustainability.
  • CEO Deepak Siddharth K highlighted the cost-saving benefits, reduced wastage, and ability to print smaller quantities.
  • Built in Coimbatore, the machines offer rapid service and support for local manufacturers.
RDX Digital Technologies, a leader in the design and manufacturing of digital printing machinery, unveiled its hybrid digital printing machines at the recently concluded Garment Technology Expo (GTE) 2024, Bangalore. These machines combine traditional screen printing with digital printing, offering manufacturers the best of both worlds.

Speaking to Fibre2Fashion, Deepak Siddharth K, CEO of RDX Digital Technologies, explained the innovation behind the hybrid machines. “Our machines use screen printing for the white under-base and digital printing for all colours, allowing for value additions like glitter, foil, and fluorescent colours—all in one process.” He emphasised that with the rise of AI-generated high-quality designs, the traditional screen printing method struggles to keep up, making hybrid technology the future of garment printing.

Cost savings and sustainability

The hybrid technology not only enhances design precision but also promotes sustainability. By reducing the need for multiple screens and lowering water consumption, manufacturers can decrease wastage and ink usage. Moreover, the ability to print smaller quantities with digital technology helps brands avoid overproduction, reducing dead stock and enhancing inventory management.

Positive feedback and industry trends

Siddharth noted that feedback at the expo had been extremely positive, with great interest from industry professionals. “The clarity and precision our machines offer are in line with the current trend of ensuring what customers see on their screens is exactly what they get on fabric,” he said, stressing that innovation in garment printing is ongoing.

Make in India: Supporting local industry

RDX Digital Technologies manufactures its digital printing machines entirely in Coimbatore, India. Siddharth highlighted this as a major advantage, ensuring faster support and reduced downtime compared to imported machinery. “Our machines are built from scratch in India, which allows us to offer rapid service and immediate spare parts availability, minimising any production delays for our customers.”
