The Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) launched the report.
The second round of negotiations for the EPA was held in Dhaka in a hybrid format from November 10 to 14. In this round, both sides discussed trade in goods, rules of origin, customs procedures and trade facilitation, trade in services, investment and intellectual property, a release from the Japanese foreign affairs ministry said.
For signing the EPA, JBCCI has formed a standing committee. Policy Exchange of Bangladesh Limited, the consulting firm appointed by JBCCI, prepared the report.
JBCCI executive director Mohammad Emran said EPA is a key vehicle to secure duty-free market access for Bangladesh after its graduation from the least developed country (LDC) status in 2026.
