The construction work on the PM-MITRA park at Navsari is being done at a very fast pace, and hopefully, the park will be operational very soon—maybe in one or two years, Sagale told Fibre2Fashion on the sidelines of the event.
Speaking at the session on Gujarat, Ajay Sardana, President & Head Strategy & Business Development- Polyester, at Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), urged the state government to provide relief in power cost as it has gone up which is discouraging industry. He said that textiles is a labour intensive industry, and the government should consider providing some incentive to attract labour from the other states. At present, industry has to struggle with the shortage of labour. However, he appreciated proactive policies of the state, and said that RIL is a major investor in textile and several other sectors in the state.
Suraj Bahirwani from Aditya Birla Group said the Gujarat government is always working promptly on industry matters. He said that the group has strong presence in the state. Aditya Birla group has total investment of ₹30,000 crore, including ₹9,700 crore in the textiles sector.
KK Lalpuria, Executive Director & CEO, Indo Count Industries, appreciated Gujarat government for promoting women workers. He said that the government is also trying to skill workers, which is must for fast growth of the textiles industry.
