At least four textile factories in Cambodia employing around 3,000 workers in all may suspend operations because of delays in supply of raw materials from China caused by the coronavirus outbreak, according to the country’s labour ministry, whose spokesman Heng Sour recently reported delays in delivery of garments, yarn, buttons and shoe soles.

Sour did not disclose the names of the factories, according to a global newswire.

Cambodia's only confirmed case of coronavirus, a Chinese national in the coastal city of Sihanoukville, had recovered and left hospital early this week, the ministry of health said in a statement.

The European Union (EU) will decide today whether to suspend Cambodia's special ‘Everything But Arms’ over human rights concerns.
