This accounted for 64 per cent of the country’s total trade volume worth $26.3-billion in the period.
Exports to the RCEP members were worth $4.52 billion during H1—up by 11 per cent YoY, and imports from there were worth $12.38 billion—up by 15.3 per cent YoY.
Cambodia’s top five RCEP trading partners are China, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and Singapore, the report said.
RCEP comprises 15 Asia-Pacific countries including 10 ASEAN member states—Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and their five trading partners—China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
Ministry spokesperson Penn Sovicheat told a news agency that the country’s exports to RCEP countries will continue to rise throughout the second half this year and beyond.
