Celanese opens advanced Micromax lab in Shenzhen

Celanese Corporation, a global specialty materials and chemical company, announced the opening of its Micromax Electronic Inks and Pastes Lab in Shenzhen, China. The lab will provide technical service and application development for thick film pastes and Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic products with comprehensive processing and characterization capabilities to serve the automotive, consumer electronics, passive components and telecom industries.

The Micromax Shenzhen Lab is more than 300 square meters and is equipped with 100 pieces of advanced equipment. This includes material storage, sample making, printing and coating, multi-temperature firing and full testing of samples through high-resolution 3D microscopy and high-precision measurement microscopy.

“The Micromax Shenzhen Lab represents our commitment to customers, underscoring our critical role in China's thick film electronic materials market,” said Pedro Van Hoecke, vice president of global Technology and Innovation for Celanese. “The lab will also enhance the synergistic effect of high-performance engineered materials and electronic pastes to bring more innovative solutions to the industry.”

The Micromax Shenzhen lab is a key facility in the Micromax global R&D network. It has excellent collaborative experimental capability and shares resources with the R&D facilities in the U.S. and Asia Pacific regions.

“Since joining the Celanese portfolio in 2022 as part of the DuPont Mobility & Materials acquisition, the Micromax Electronic Inks and Pastes product line has made great progress by enabling critical technologies in the electronics, automotive and biomedical markets,” said Alfonso Garces, Micromax global business leader. “The new lab in Shenzhen strengthens our capabilities to respond to customers’ needs and collaborate on new innovative solutions.”
