The China-Europe Railway Express experienced substantial growth in operations during the first seven months of this year, according to data from China Railway. Between January and July, 11,403 trains were dispatched, marking a 12 per cent increase compared to the previous year. These trains transported 1.22 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) containers, reflecting an 11 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth.

In July alone, 1,776 trains were in operation, moving 185,000 TEUs of goods. This marks the third consecutive month where the number of trains operated exceeded 1,700.

Throughout the year, efforts have been made to enhance the quality and efficiency of the China-Europe Railway Express services. These improvements are aimed at maintaining the stability and smooth functioning of the international supply and industrial chains. Key initiatives include the development of transportation channels, boosting transshipment capabilities at border ports, and advancing the rapid customs clearance model, according to Chinese media reports.
