According to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, the nylon staple fibre was traded at $2,123.81 per ton in April-June 2023. It remained steady in July-September 2023 quarter. The average prices were noted at $2,123.90 per ton.
However, the raw material for textile industry had seen a rise of 3.36 per cent and prices rose to $2,195.32 per ton in October-December 2023. It further jumped 4.68 per cent to $2,298.14 per ton in January-March of current year. But its prices eased 1.24 per cent to come down at $2,269.75 per ton in the present April-June quarter of this year.
However, nylon filament yarn has noticed volatility in the Chinese domestic market during the last one year, which has caused very limited gains. Nylon filament yarn (DTY 50D/24F) was sold at $2.84 per kg in April-July 2023. It eased 4.23 per cent to $2.72 per kg in July-September 2023 quarter. But it recovered 1.47 per cent to $2.76 per kg in October-December 2023 and further gained 5.07 per cent to $2.90 per kg in January-March 2024. The prices fell 1.38 per cent to $2.86 per kg in April-June 2024, as per TexPro.
