Foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland, in actual use, rose by 19.6 per cent year on year (YoY) in the first nine months of the year, according to the ministry of commerce, which recently said that between January and September, non-financial FDI into the country totaled 859.5 billion yuan. In US dollar terms, FDI into the Chinese mainland totaled $129.3 billion, up by 25.2 per cent YoY.FDI into the service sector increased by 22.5 per cent in yuan terms, while high-tech industries saw FDI inflow jumping by 29.1 per cent YoY, official Chinese media reported citing data from the ministry.
Foreign investments from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and countries along the Belt and Road into the Chinese mainland jumped by 31.4 per cent and 31.9 per cent respectively.
