China exported home textiles worth $323.066 million during the same period last year. The total trade amounted to $636.928 million in 2023 and $544.216 million in 2022, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
An analysis of product-wise trade data indicated that bedding became the most exported product, with a share of more than one quarter in H1 this year. The exports of bathroom and kitchen textiles were valued at $44.228 million, which represented 15.85 per cent of the total home textile shipment to Russia. China exported made-ups worth $43.078 million during the same period, which was 15.44 per cent of the total.
Among the top ten products, other exports included camping textiles at $32.199 million (11.54 per cent), sacks and bags at $28.595 million (10.25 per cent), window textiles at $27.871 million (9.99 per cent), floor coverings at $16.341 million (5.86 per cent), furnishing articles at $8.678 million (3.11 per cent), table textiles at $4.384 million (1.57 per cent), and used/new rags at $0.798 million (0.29 per cent).
According to TexPro, home textile exports to Russia reached a multi-year high in 2020, touching a level of $1,248.006 million, which was around 126.50 per cent higher than the shipment of $551.214 million in 2019. The trade value halved to $650.172 million in 2021 and further declined to $544.216 million in 2022. However, it recovered to $636.928 million in 2023.
