China’s power generation from industrial enterprises with an annual main business turnover of at least 20 million yuan (about $2.91 million) saw a 5.1 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in March, as per the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). NDRC spokesperson Meng Wei shared at a press conference that the total power generation from these enterprises reached 717.3 billion KWh in March.Thermal power generation increased by 9.1 per cent YoY in March, while nuclear power output increased by 4.6 per cent from a year ago. Solar power generation saw a rise of 13.9 per cent YoY last month, whereas wind power output edged up 0.2 per cent, local media reports said quoting Meng.

Overall, total power generation in China rose 2.4 per cent YoY to 2.07 trillion KWh in the first quarter of the year, Meng said.
