China's Manzhouli port reports 46.1% surge in H1 2023 trade

Manzhouli, recognised as the biggest land port in China, has reported a surge in import and export volumes for the first half (H1) of 2023. The port managed to handle in excess of 10 million tonnes during this period, which represents an annual growth of 46.1 per cent, as per the data released by China Railway Harbin Bureau Group Co, Ltd.

The port, strategically located in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has experienced a steady increase in traffic volume since the beginning of the year.

A maximum of 28 trains were serviced in a single day, including eight outbound ones, said Chinese media reports quoting Liu Huichao, the deputy chief of Manzhouli railway station.
