Trade data from Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, indicates that the price of woven organic yarn of the stated variety and count has decreased by 5.34 per cent in the Chinese domestic market during the current year. It was traded at $3.75 per kg in the first week of January 2024. It maintained a steady trend in the first two months, with prices remaining at the same level. However, the price dropped to $3.69 per kg in the first week of March 2024. The product experienced significant fluctuations last month, reaching $5.34 per kg.
Conversely, the trend was opposite in another Asian market, India, where the FOB price increased from $4.02 per kg to $4.44 per kg in the last quarter. The prices began to rise in the last week of February. Subsequently, they increased to $4.29 per kg and continued to trend upwards. The product's price further rose to $4.41 and then to $4.46 per kg. However, it saw a slight decrease and settled at $4.44 per kg in the first week of the current month, according to TexPro.
In Turkiye's domestic market, the woven organic yarn of the 40/1 combed variety also experienced a price increase. The product inflated by 7.91 per cent in the first week of the current year. The prices were noted at $4.42 per kg in the first week of the year. There was a gradual price increase from the beginning of January 2024, rising to $4.52 per kg in the first month and further reaching $4.58 per kg and $4.63 per kg in the subsequent weeks. Finally, it rose to $4.78 per kg in mid-March but slightly decreased to $4.77 per kg in the first week of this month.
