China to stop tariff cuts on some imported Taiwanese goods from Jun 15

Responding to Taiwan's trade restrictions, China will stop tariff concessions from June 15 for Taiwanese products under 134 tariff items that enjoy preferential rates stipulated in the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council said.
The ECFA aimed at reducing commercial barriers between both sides.

Responding to Taiwan’s trade restrictions, China recently decided to stop tariff concessions from June 15 for some Taiwanese products that now enjoy preferential tariff rates stipulated in the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), according to the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council.

These Taiwanese products consisted of 134 tariff items, the commission said in a statement.

Signed by the two sides in 2010, the ECFA intended to lower commercial barriers between China and Taiwan.

In December 2023, the Commission announced to terminate ECFA tariff rates for some products from Taiwan, as Taiwan's unilateral and discriminatory trade restrictions against China breached the ECFA, a Chinese state-controlled news outlet reported.
