Chinese firm keen on opening leather, wool factories in Tajikistan

This was conveyed by visiting company chief Gao Jong Tao to the region's administrative head Davlatali Said during a recent meeting.

If the issue of allocating land is resolved, construction work and equipment delivery will start in June, according to the press center of the Khatlon governor’s office.

"The Khatlon region views the development of regional cooperation as a vital element in economic and trade advancement, investment attraction, and the implementation of modern technologies," Said was quoted as saying by domestic media reports in Tajikistan.

Khatlon produced 1.140 million pieces of cattle and small livestock leather and 5,970 tonnes of wool last year.
