In Mumbai, the rise of ₹5-7 per kg in cotton yarn prices can be attributed to costlier raw materials and stronger demand from mills. The recent increase in fabric prices by around 2-3% was also seen as a positive indicator in the market. A trader from the Mumbai market told Fibre2Fashion, "Basically, the increase in cotton yarn prices can be attributed to the rise in the price of natural fibres. However, certain varieties of fabric have also seen gains of around 2-3% in the past few days."

The Tiruppur market has seen an upward trend in certain counts and varieties, while others have remained steady. Cotton yarn 40 carded has increased by ₹5-6 per kg due to limited supply. A trader from Tiruppur told F2F, “Mills will review prices for the next monthly cycle. They will increase the prices of cotton yarn, and they may reduce discounts given the improved market sentiment. Confidence will only improve when yarn prices rise by at least 8-10%. The upcoming festival season is a major factor contributing to the current upward trend."
Prices in the Tiruppur market were noted as 30 count combed cotton yarn at ₹255-262 per kg (excluding GST), 34 count combed cotton yarn at ₹265-272 per kg, 40 count combed cotton yarn at ₹275-282 per kg, 30 count carded cotton yarn at ₹230-236 per kg, 34 count carded cotton yarn at ₹238-245 per kg and 40 count carded cotton yarn at ₹246-252 per kg, as per TexPro.
In Gujarat, cotton prices eased following a steady rise over the past few days. Prior to this, ICE cotton had seen a significant increase due to concerns over crops in the US and other regions. However, the upward trend was paused in the global market due to slower buying and profit booking. Domestic prices also eased after the recent increase. Trade sources stated that spinning mills reduced purchasing due to higher prices. Shankar-6 cotton was quoted between ₹57,700-58,200 per candy. The cotton arrival in Gujarat was well within 5,000 bales of 170 kg, with all India arrivals estimated at 16,000-17,000 bales of 170 kg.
