Epson develops new series of 6-axis robotic arm

Epson Group, a Japan based technology solutions provider to manufacturing industries around the world including textiles, has developed the new N series of its 6-axis industrial robotic arm which requires lesser space, delivers more and reduces cycle times in manufacturing units for efficient automation, according to a press statement released by the company.

The new robot series, which will be exhibited at the International Robot Exhibition 2015 from December 2-5 in Tokyo, will help manufacturing units to inspect and assemble electronic products and components and automotive components in China, Europe and the US. It will also help in medical applications and automation of various tasks in manufacturing units.

Epson's new N series is set for a release globally in May, 2016. The new series will have the specifications of RC 700-A compliant comptroller, 2.5 kg payload, less than 19 kg of approximate mass, 160 (lower arm length) + 290 (upper arm length) and 57 mm wrist length to name a few.

“Epson is committed to automating production floors around the globe with high-performance industrial robots like the new N series that leverage Epson's original robotics technologies,” said Yoneharu Fukushima, chief operating officer of Epson's Robotics Solutions Operations Division.
