India’s Haryana state will set up an export promotion bureau and offer institutional support to exporters, according to Saket Kumar, director general of the state’s industries and commerce department, who recently told a trade fair in Gurugram that district-level export promotion committees (DLEPC) have been formed in every district of the state.

A Trade Promotion Committee has been constituted at the state-level as well to review all types of trade related issues like logistics, agricultural exports and service exports.

Not only incentives are being offered to entrepreneurs and exporters in the state, but business environment, linkages and other government facilities are also being provided, he said while inaugurating the 'Vanijya Utsav' organised by the central department of industries and commerce and the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).

Haryana is exporting goods to the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Germany and Nepal. The main exporting districts are Gurugram, Panipat, Karnal, Sonipat and Faridabad, an official statement said.

Rice, readymade garments, handlooms and handicrafts, automobiles and their components, metal ware, machinery and parts and medicines and pharmaceutical products are the main exports.
