The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce of Industry (FBCCI) will work with the British-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BBCCI) to expand the market for Bangladeshi products in the United Kingdom, FBCCI president Mohammad Jashim Uddin told BBCCI president Bashir Ahmed when the latter paid him a courtesy call in Dhaka recently.Apart from readymade garments, no other Bangladeshi product is exported to the United Kingdom on a large scale. As Bangladeshi expatriates are the primary buyers of the exported products now, FBCCI intends to change this situation, said Jashim Uddin.
Ahmed said Bangladeshi exporters were lagging behind in marketing strategy in Britain. The two presidents agreed to form a sector-based working group between businessmen of the two countries in future.
