The Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress (GFC) is the world’s most unique innovation congress acting as a ‘Global Network Generator’ in the whole textile supply chain. The latest edition, held at the Kulturhaus in Dornbirn, was attended by representatives from about 200 companies from Europe, Asia and America.
“Consumer demand for textiles have been growing consistently in line with growth of the global population and is expected to follow the same trend in the future as well. Increasing consumer demand resulted in average growth of 2.2 per cent in the consumption of textile fibres across the world between 2017 and 2021, preliminary driven by growing consumption in Asia-Pacific region, where consumption grew by 2.5 per cent during the same period,” the report on ‘Global Fibre Market’ said.
“Key factors driving the global growth were increasing per capita consumption of textiles materials, growing consumption of technical textiles and rebounding consumer confidence owing to better economic prospects and projections in the post pandemic years,” the report added.
The report also lists the drivers, restraints and opportunities for textile fibres. Click here to view the full report.
