The proposal is for an eastern warehouse centre in Trang Bom, a logistics centre at Phuoc An port, and two logistics centres in the northern and southern zones of the Long Thanh airport.
All these logistics centres are planned to facilitate the transportation of goods and reduce logistic costs, a news agency reported.
The growth rate of Dong Nai's logistic services will reach about 30-35 per cent each year, contributing 20-25 per cent to the province's gross domestic product of the service sector, according to the draft.
New logistics centres are planned to handle 60-70 per cent of the province's total goods volume, with the remaining traditional logistics service centres and areas responsible for 30-40 per cent.
Many firms in the province still use Cat Lai port in Ho Chi Minh City for their import-export services despite having local access to efficient river systems and port infrastructure.
