Germany witnessed a decline in its exports to countries outside the European Union (EU) (third countries) in December 2023, according to the provisional data from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). These exports decreased by 4 per cent in December compared with the previous month of November 2023, on a calendar and seasonally adjusted basis.The value of the goods exported to these third countries in December 2023 amounted to €57.2 billion, following seasonal and calendar adjustment. This marks a decrease from the exports recorded in the same period last year.
In terms of original values without seasonal and calendar adjustment, exports to third countries stood at €53 billion in December 2023. This figure represents a 9.2 per cent decrease compared to the same month a year earlier, indicating a significant downturn in Germany's trade with non-EU nations, as per Destatis.
Germany's exports to non-EU countries fell by 4 per cent in December 2023 compared to November 2023, with adjusted exports valued at €57.2 billion, according to Destatis.
This decline represents a decrease from the previous year.
