The third revenue for fiscal 2018 at GHCL, India’s leading chemical and textile company, has been recorded at  ₹875 crore as compared to ₹738 crore of the corresponding quarter of the previous year, registering a growth of 18 per cent. The Profit after Tax increased by 44 per cent to ₹102 crore during the quarter as compared to ₹71 crore during the last year.

Revenue from inorganics chemicals division revenue grew by 11 per cent to ₹551 crore in the reported period as compared to ₹497 crore in the corresponding quarter in fiscal 2018. This was mainly due to increase in the realisation of Soda Ash along with higher trading and Consumer Product sales.

Home Textiles business revenue climbed 34 per cent to ₹324 crore in the third quarter of fiscal 2019 over ₹241 crore in the corresponding quarter in FY18 primarily due to higher volumes and better realisation.

"We are happy to deliver result better than expectations. PAT for the quarter has grown by 44 per cent, with highest ever EBITDA in a quarter. We benefitted from higher realisations due to price increase in Soda Ash in last 2 quarters. The textile segment has also shown growth due to a higher volume, stable rupee and change in GHCL’s perception in the market place to offer High Quality and innovative product line. Soda ash production is higher due to some benefit of ongoing brownfield expansion," RS Jalan, managing director, GHCL said. (RR)
