Global exports of cleaning cloths decline

The global trade of cleaning cloths (floor-cloths, dishcloths, dusters and similar cleaning cloths) has been showing a consistent decline. Total trade dropped by 3.08 per cent from 2017 to 2019, according to data from TexPro. The global trade of cleaning cloths was $5,359.64 million in 2017, which moved down to $5,194.67 million in 2019. 
 
The total trade of cleaning cloths has reduced 9.90 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is anticipated to slash to $4,739.64 million in 2022 with a rate of 8.76 per cent from 2019, according to Fibre2Fashion's market analysis tool TexPro.
 
The global export of cleaning cloths was $3,244.61 million in 2017, which declined 4.55 per cent to $3,097.11 million in 2019. Total exports diminished by 11.57 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to curtail to $2,693.65 million in 2022 with a rate of 13.03 per cent from 2019.
 
The global import value of cleaning cloths was $2,115.04 million in 2017, which decreased 0.83 per cent to $2,097.56 million in 2019. Total imports cut by 7.32 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to weaken to $2,045.99 million in 2022 with a rate of 2.46 per cent from 2019.
 
China ($1,868.67 million) and Pakistan ($370.01 million) were the key exporters of cleaning cloths across the globe in 2019, together comprising 72.28 per cent of total export. These were followed by the Germany ($123.51 million), Netherlands ($74.94 million) and US ($69.56 million).
 
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export value, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by China (105.88 per cent).
 
US ($601.02 million), UK ($155.66 million) and Germany ($145.98 million) were the key importers of cleaning cloths across the globe in 2019, together comprising 43.03 per cent of total import. These were followed by France ($104.04 million), Italy ($93.53 million) and Netherlands ($71.03 million).
 
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import value, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by UK (77.48 per cent) and US (13.29 per cent).
