India’s Central Board for Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) yesterday launched the customs compliance information portal (CIP) for providing free access to information on all customs procedures and regulatory compliance for nearly 12,000 customs tariff Items. It will also offer legal and procedural requirements of several partner government agencies.
The agencies include the Drug Controller of India, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, the AICTE quality improvement schemes (AQIS) and the plant quarantine information system (PQIS).India's Central Board for Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) yesterday launched the customs compliance information portal (CIP) for providing free access to information on all customs procedures and regulatory compliance for nearly 12,000 customs tariff Items. The CIP portal can be reached at www.cip.icegate.gov.in/CIP, an official release said.
For using CIP, one can simply enter either the customs tariff heading (CTH) or the description of the goods in question to get information to step-by-step procedures, regulatory compliances requirements like license and certificates for imports as well as exports.
This includes import and export through posts and courier, import of samples, reimport and re-export of goods, self-sealing facility for exporters and project imports.
A map on the portal shows all customs seaports, airports and land customs stations. It also contains addresses of the regulatory agencies and their websites.
