The Indonesian embassy and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) based in Mexico City recently facilitated signing of a business cooperation agreement between Indonesia’s PT. Asia Garment Internasional and Mexican company Pareos Del Mar for export of textiles, Balinese apparel, furniture and home decor products from Indonesia to Mexico.

Under the agreement, Pareos Del Mar will serve as a representative agent for the Indonesian company’s products in Mexico.

The cooperation is part of efforts taken since early this year to increase Indonesia's exports to the central American country, the embassy said in a statement recently.

Indonesia exported a container load of furniture and home decor items to Monterrey City in Mexico via the Tanjung Priok port in north Jakarta on February 1.

The products, which mostly came from West Java, will be displayed and sold at a gallery in Monterrey, which has so far sold home decor products from the United States, according to a news agency report.
