In April 2024, Italy's calendar-adjusted industrial production index experienced a decline of 2.9 per cent compared to April 2023, according to the Italian National Institute of Statistics (Istat). The index specifically for the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel, and accessories saw a significant year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 13.3 per cent.The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for April 2024 also showed a decline, falling by 1 per cent from the previous month. Additionally, the change in the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was minus 1.3 per cent.
Despite these declines, the unadjusted industrial production index increased by 4.7 per cent in April 2024 compared to the same month in the previous year, as per Istat.
