Twelve apparel companies from Mauritius are participating in the international fair Première Vision Manufacturing now underway in Paris. The fair ends on February 18. Mauritius is participating for the 8th consecutive year. The delegation is being led by Enterprise Mauritius, according a Mauritian government press release.

Première Vision Manufacturing (previously known as Zoom by Fatex) is an international fair held twice a year and is considered as a 'must participate' fair by Mauritian textile companies. It represents one of the most appropriate platforms for Mauritian enterprises to showcase products and establish new contacts with French and European buyers. Some 147 exhibitors for textile and apparel are attending the exhibition. The Mauritius Pavilion expects over 8,000 professional visitors during the exhibition.
The main objectives behind participation in this exhibition are market consolidation, market expansion and enhancing the visibility of Mauritius as a sourcing destination of choice for textile and apparel sector. The exhibition will be an effective platform for Mauritian enterprises to familiarise with latest trends and collections, the release said.
France remains a major market for Mauritian apparel exports. Recent figures indicate a increasing trend, with exports to France during the year 2015 reaching Rs 3.8 billion compared to Rs 3.2 billion in 2014. (SH)
